I spent the day hammering out a race list for 2012. My son has been sick with a cold and refuses to let me play with him. So most of my day was spent going back and forth checking on him. But in the shuffle of being a mommy I was able to do some research and figure out a racing schedule.
Here it is:
Sunday, February 26, 2012 - Hyannis Half Marathon (Cape Cod, MA)
Saturday, March 17, 2012 - Rock 'n' Roll USA (Washington, DC)
Sunday, April 1, 2012 - Atlantic City April Fools Half (Atlantic City, NJ)
Sunday, April 15, 2012 - More Magazine/Fitness Magazine Half-Marathon (Central Park, NY)
Sunday, May 20, 2012 - Marine Corp Historic Half (Washington, DC)
Sunday, June 10, 2012 - Lake Placid Half Marathon (Lake Placid, NY)
Sunday, July 15, 2012 - Presque Isle Half Marathon (Erie, PA)
**Full marathon yet to be determined**
Are any of you running the above mentioned races? Or have you ran these races? If so what did you think? Any good advice?
Be Inspired, Stay Motivated, Run Strong!
I've never run any of those races, but I do have a suggestion. Be wary of signing up for something too early. A lot can happen in the time between now and your summer races. Injuries, life events, you name it. It's disappointing enough to skip a race for any reason, but to also be out the $50+ entry fee for a half makes it even worse.
ReplyDeleteI remember you telling me that when I first started. So I made the list, but I only registered for the Feb and March races. Once they other ones come closer I am going to register. I would hate to lose the entry fee, that would suck!
